　人と付き合うには、何かとお金がかかるものです。出掛ける時の交通費。立ち話で済ませるわけもいかないので、飲食店に入るでしょうから食費もかかります。出掛ける時に着ていく服も、状況に合わせて用意しなくてはなりません。電話やインターネットで済ませ、直接合わない場合でも通信費がかかります。こちらから伺う時は手ぶらでも構わないでしょうけど、何か手土産は用意したいところです。相手がこちらに来る時には、いろいろ持て成したいものです。
　とにかく、人と付き合うには何かとお金が出ていくものです。
　そこで、こういう時のお金を安く済ませられないか。いっそのこと使わずに済ませられないか。そういうことを考える人が出てくるのは当然だろうと思います。
　
　とは言え、世の中は人脈によって成り立つもの。それをおろそかにすると、いざという時に困る事態になります。
　それに今の仕事や趣味とは関係のない人たちとの交流を絶ってしまったら、今は良くてもその後の広がりを失うかもしれません。人の縁が元で新しい事業が生まれるというのは、よく聞く話です。
　金の切れ目が縁の切れ目。これはお金を出す出さないではなく、付き合いの善し悪しを意味するとも解釈できますね。
