小田急小田原線は、全区間で9回も東京都と神奈川県の都県境を越える（多摩川にかかる多摩川橋梁から、境川にかかる橋まで）。特に、柿生駅から玉川学園前駅の間は、わずか2.3キロメートルで7回も都県境を越える（東京都町田市能ヶ谷と神奈川県川崎市麻生区上麻生6丁目の境から、町田市金井町と麻生区岡上の境まで。他に都県境に接している場所も1箇所ある）。
